Driver's Licence Process
for Turkey Citizens

Canada has specific regulations and requirements for individuals who have obtained their driver's licences from other countries, including Turkey. To ensure a smooth transition and obtain your driver's licence in Canada, it's essential to understand the process and fulfill the necessary steps.

G1 Knowledge Test

You must pass the G1 knowledge test, which evaluates your understanding of traffic signs, rules, and regulations in Ontario.

G2 Road Test.

After holding your G1 licence for at least 12 months, you can book your G2 road test. This test assesses your practical driving skills.

Full G Licence.

After successfully passing the G2 road test, you can obtain your full G licence, allowing you to drive independently in Ontario.

Proof of Identity

You'll need to provide valid identification, such as a passport or permanent resident card.

Proof of Legal Presence

Documentation proving your legal status in Canada, such as a study or work permit, is required.

Turkish Driver's Licence

You must surrender your Turkish driver's licence, which will be returned to the issuing authority in Turkey.

Driving Experience

Your driving experience from Turkey may be considered when determining your eligibility for a G2 road test exemption. However, additional requirements may apply.

Language Requirements

You must be proficient in English or French to understand road signs and communicate with others while driving in Ontario.
